The challenges of configuring a test environment
As test architect one of the main challenges of setting up an efficient test process is ensuring all testers have access to the relevant test environment. There are two aspects to this. The first is ensuring there are resources to set up the test environment. The second is the knowledge to configure the set environment. In this article we will cover the latter.
Configuring test environment
Configuring a test environment is not an easy task. There is need for a clear set of requirements – for example when testing a banking application what type of user bank accounts should be configured to cover all possible test cases – that need to be translated to configuration requirements. Once the configuration requirements are clear there is still need to achieve all permissions and clearances from the security team, privacy etc to set the required configuration.
